To provide an update to my last post, it appears that Jim Balsillie may move the Nashville Predators to ‘The Hammer’. Apparently, Balsillie has a lease agreement with Copps Coliseum in Hamilton. I’d prefer the team to be here in Kitchener, but I’m ok with Hamilton; it’s only 60 kilometres away.

uh, shouldn’t he break his lease in Nashville first? He’s stuck there for 07-08 at a minimum. If attendance is 14,000 or more, then he’s stuck for at least seven years.

By signing a lease with Hamilton, which is open to being easily broken, it sets the precedent that the team is on the move. Fans will stop coming in Nashville. He is out. But don’t be fooled. Hamilton is not where the team will land. Proximity taxes will ensure that. Start beating the drums for Cambridge. He will go to where ever the roar of the awaiting fans are loudest!
